The Bethel Outing Club has been selected to take part in a community vote for a $10,000 grant from WinterKids Downhill24 Outdoor Fund. The fund is distributing grants totaling $50,000 to 10 organizations across Maine to help get kids active outside. Community members vote for the organizations they want to receive the funding.

The Bethel Outing Club plans to use the funds to purchase youth cross country ski equipment and a trailer to be able to support youth programming a multiple venues. More than 70 kids participated in after school ski programming last year at Crescent Park School. By making the equipment mobile, more kids and families can be supported at events such as Gould Academy's Wednesday Night Lights and programs at other locations.
