The 2023 BOC Annual Ski Sale has been cancelled for this weekend, Oct 27 and 28.
With gratitude to our supporters and compassion for the many people affected by the tragic events in Lewiston this week, the Bethel Outing Club has cancelled the annual Ski Sale scheduled for Friday October 27 and Saturday October 28. Please continue to support our neighbors with kindness and generosity now and always, because tragedies large and small can impact us all. We hope to find another date in the next month to support the skiing community with a used gear sale event.
The Bethel Outing Club Ski Sale happens the last weekend in October at the Gould Academy Field House on Church Street in Bethel--Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The BOC Ski Sale has provided a community service for 42 years by bringing new and used equipment from major ski shops and local and visiting skiers to one location, with all proceeds benefiting youth outdoor programming that is organized/supported by the Bethel Outing Club. The club keeps 20% of the sale price for each item that you sell and you get the rest. Donations of equipment are also welcome and support BOC's non-profit mission. In 2022 any used alpine gear that is donated to the sale and is not sold will be available to kids who have received a free ski pass to Sunday River through the River Fund Maine ski scholarship program or to Mount Abram through the efforts of Friends of Mt. Abram. We will also get cross country ski gear to kids who are participating on local school teams or in the Maine West Project Play/MKA program. We are extremely happy to support these efforts.

Tags will be available at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce (207-824-2282, located at Bethel Station & on the web at www.bethelmaine.com) and True North Adventureware (207-824-2201) starting October 1st. 3. Equipment may also be tagged at the ski sale beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27th and is subject to a $1 per item tag fee for items that aren’t tagged in advance. Look for signs designating the entrance for “USED GEAR SALES” at the sale venue.
Tips: Buyers are looking for bargains, so you may wish to price your items accordingly. Prices on all personal equipment (e.g., other than equipment brought in by our ski shops) will be reduced by 50% on Saturday. If your item does not sell on Friday night and you do not wish to have it offered for sale at half price, you must claim it at the close of the sale on Friday night at 9:00 p.m.
Unsold equipment and checks for sold items must be claimed by presenting each unsold item’s claim ticket between 12:30pm and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th, after the close of the sale. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP BY 2:00 p.m. SATURDAY WILL BE CONSIDERED DONATIONS TO THE BETHEL OUTING CLUB and/or WILL BE DONATED TO A CHARITY OR OTHERWISE DISPOSED OF. Proceeds not claimed will be considered a donation unless you make alternative arrangements.
